FREIBURG TODAY : ONE BILLION DANCE AGAINST VIOLENCE

500 (not 250 as I wrote yesterday) mostly women and a few men of One Billion Rising danced in Freiburg on a zero grade cold winter day in the best mood, one of 200 cities that took part in Germany. There were thousands of dancers in India and millions throughout the world. It´s great having been part of this wonderful, sadly necessary, worldwide rise for stopping violence against women.

Still a lot of work to do until Valentine 2014, keep strength and good mood.
See you again and THANK YOU.

FREIBURG: Congrats from South West Germany

This election was as exciting as a thriller. Our newspaper wrote that the city of FREIBURG would be "Obama-Land" and that 87 % of the Germans would have elected him. Better DON´T ask me if our Chancellor Angela (Merkel) really likes that xXx.

FREIBURG has a green mayor and the state (BADEN-WÜRTTEMBERG) has the very first green Prime Minister and the capital STUTTGART newly now has also a green mayor.

Good luck for successful future years, wish I could travel the USA again, and I hope that all the people who have been attacked by Sandy can turn back to normal life soon.

Pictures and numbers

I opened my blog and see that 9.999 times somebody in the big wide world had a look somewhere on my blog. This is too funny and I like to know it. Normally numbers are not my preferred medium, but 9.999 is like a picture and pictures enter my brain easily. Thank you my dear readers. Today we are expecting another beautiful summer day. Meteorological our summer is half over already. In the evening all helpers of the big flea market of the last weekend are invited to eat together to celebrate the success of their work. Have a nice day around the world all together.

My perfect Sunday

Perfect weather, wonderful flea market, nice customers and a successful result. I forgot to eat and to drink. Now I´m back at home and very tired. Hope you all had a wonderful Sunday like mine.

Sunday morning on my way to the flea market, the city still shocked and sleepy after a heavy rain storm. All houses and places look like fresh washed.

Sculpture art, Claes Oldenbourg´s Wasser marsch! in Eschholzpark.

Change from tram to bus from Paduaallee to Lehen. After the storm some broken trees.

My corner at the market, everything for your household. An only small leftover.

The rest of our fine glass ware. People seem to need a lot of glasses for all the summer barbecues and festivals. The remaining looks big but we gladly sold two or three times more than this. Gives us space for new goods.

The invitation for our market at the tram stations of the city. Arriving back home in the early evening. Thankful for a great and happy day, glad about the sunshine - and very, very tired. See you again summer next year or for our smaller one in September.

The new camera´s first pictures

Yesterday on my way back home from the city a young student of twenty set his room on fire to give me a first opportunity to test my new camera. No. Kidding. Set on fire? Yes. But hopefully not for me. I needed two hours for five tram stations (couldn´t walk because of a recent knee injury) and here the first results of taking photos outside.
