A love story, thirteen year old Repka and three-legged Tommy were adopted from Belgrad Animal Shelter, Serbia to their new forever home in Germany.

Tommy takes a break while his people enjoy to talk about questions like ... if Tommy´s missing leg will grow new again? Nope, it will not, sorry for him. Because he is no reptil but a dog, some reptils are able to grow lost parts new .. but .. legs?

Hello good old friend Friday! Hello weekend - have a playful one, dear. We are expecting a perfect sunshine weekend and our big summer celebration with even a bigger fleamarket - the best in town - for the animal shelter takes place. It´s always one of the best weekends of the year. Many of our shelter animals will find a new good and forever home. Adopt a pet if you can and it will make your house to a home

Today the spring fleamarket of our animal shelter takes place. And it is raining cats and dogs. My cat went back to bed after breakfast. Wish I could do the same to dream of a summer that hopefully will come. Have a nice weekend with some sun rays, dear. 

HEY - THE FLEAMARKET WAS GREAT AND WE EVEN HAD S.U.N.S.H.I.N.E., ONLY ONE SHORT MOMENT OF A ROMANTIC RAIN SHOWER - THE MARKET TAKES PLACE IN A BARN - AND WE SOLD A LOT OF NICE THINGS WHAT MEANS A LOT OF NOM NOMS FOR THE INHABITANTS AND FRESH MONEY FOR THE ONGOING OF OUR WORK FOR OUR LOVELY ANIMALS!! WE ARE SO LUCKY, COMPLETELY LUCKY, XXX. THANKS.

WHAT A SUNDAY!

Three families with thirteen dogs and an unknown amount of nom noms! We had a big Sunday meeting of human families with their dog families and all together a lot of fun and fresh air. The dogs you see (and some more not to be seen here) are adopted from Germany or different other European countries. The fourteenth boy, Tomy, is joining us on Saturday this week. Welcome Tomy!

It´s going to be a doggie Happy New Year

Good news at the beginning of the new year! Rudi´s lovely young family is going to adopt two shelter dogs after they have lost Rudi so unexpected and much too early. Some people are good in a sometimes not so good world!
Hoping for all the homeless dogs and cats and pets to find a good new home. Getting all the love they deserve and that they will be blessed with many tennis balls for a good play. I will surely report on the blog when I know more. I am so excited!

We had to say good bye to Rudi

Only a short time after Rudi found his perfect family he died of a very serious infection. Emergency couldn´t help. We have taken all the medical chances but we had to let him go.
Rudi enjoyed every day, every hour, every minute staying with the young couple who adopted him and in his new family´s home and together with them on great walks in the woods on their holidays. He is now together again with his former family, Renate and his doggie companion, Fredy.  

Sleep well little one and thank you so much for your love and for the joy you brought to us,
your family and your big fan group.

I have always marveled at how well dogs and people get along. They move so comfortably into your life, choose a chair to sleep on, figure out your moods, and have no trouble bending themselves to a curve that should be completely strange and inappropriate. From the first, they fall asleep so easily in a foreign land.
